On June 1, 2009, in Labutta District, it was opened as a government technical high school in Pyinsalu sub-township. On December 15, 2014, it was moved from Pyinsalu to Labutta, a new town 3 miles away. It was opened on January 25, 2016, as Government Technical Institute (Labutta).
